I, like many who dive into the health industry, was an overweight kid. I had to start my weight loss journey early—I was nine years old—but I only achieved real progress in my teen years. This is because I started out by trying “fad” diets, following unhealthy workout routines, and having a poor mindset.
It wasn’t until I changed my food that I saw real, tangible change. That’s what brought me into the weight loss industry; I wanted to help others who were going through what I went through to get to their goal. All work, no results.
But weight loss is possible with healthy changes. I just had to realize what those are and how to incorporate them into my daily life.
When I told my mother I wanted to do this, she told me that’s not a job. “Nobody does this. That’s weight watchers.” In a way, she was right. Eight years later, here I was--here I am--helping women lose weight. But it isn’t a job, not for me. To me, it’s my passion.
About fourteen years ago, I got cancer, and that made me want to figure things out a little deeper. How could it be that I got cancer? I watch what I eat, I exercise daily, and here I am with cancer. So, that’s when I went to INN (the Institute of Integrative Nutrition), to figure it out—and I did. I found out what foods contribute to causing cancer and which foods could help my body fight it. And fight it, I did.
When you know better, you eat better. When you eat better, you feel better. When you feel better, we both reach our goals.
